본 연구는 성학대 피해로 인해 심리적 외상을 경험한 아동이 모래놀이치료를 통해 어떻게 자아를 회복하고 통합해 나가는지 그 치유 과정을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 성학대 피해 아동인 내담자를 대상으로 총 20회기의 모래놀이치료를 진행하였으며, 이를 노이만의 자아발달단계에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과, 남근적 대지 단계(1~7회기)에서는 성적 트라우마로 인한 내면의 결핍을 긍정적 모성 에너지를 통해 보충하며 자아 보호의 기초를 다졌고, 마술적-남근 단계(8~9회기)에서는 물과 모래를 조절하며 트라우마에 대한 마술적 통제감을 경험하고 자아의 능동성을 회복하기 시작했다. 마술적 전쟁단계(10-17회기)에서는 뱀파이어와 좀비 등으로 상징되는 무의식의 부정적 지배에 맞서 싸우며 대극의 합일을 통해 독립된 자아 영역을 확보하였다. 마지막 토테미즘과 부권적 발달 또는 태양 자아 단계(18-20회기) 에 이르러서는 견고한 ‘자아-자기 축’을 형성함으로써, 트라우마의 어둠을 극복하고 스스로 빛을 발하는 태양 자아로 통합되어 현실의 또래 관계와 사회적 적응력을 성공적으로 회복하였다.

초 록 [영문]

The purpose of this study is to analyze the healing process through which a child who experienced psychological trauma due to sexual abuse restores and integrates the ego through Sandplay therapy. To this end, a total of 20 sessions of Sandplay therapy were conducted with a child victim of sexual abuse, and the therapeutic process was analyzed according to Neumann’s stages of ego development. The results showed that during the phallic-earth stage (sessions 1-7), inner deficiencies caused by sexual trauma were compensated for through positive maternal energy, thereby laying the foundation for ego protection. In the magical-phallic stage (sessions 8-9), the client experienced a sense of magical control over the trauma by regulating water and sand and began to recover ego agency. In the magical-war stage (sessions 10-17), the client confronted the negative domination of the unconscious symbolized by vampires and zombies, securing an independent ego domain through the union of opposites. Finally, in the stage of totemism and paternal development, or the solar ego stage (sessions 18-20), the client formed a solid “ego-Self axis,” overcame the darkness of trauma, and integrated into a self-radiating solar ego, successfully restoring peer relationships and social adaptability in real life.
